John Street Gallery opening evening

What a lovely feeling on Saturday to finally open the doors of our new gallery. We have spent the last four weeks adjusting and readjusting from 7 in the morning until 7 at night. The most difficult part was the decision making .Were the walls the right  colour? Would the flooring look good? What was the best hanging and lighting system? Should we paint outside? What sort of sign should we have and what on earth should we write on the sign the ! The choices seemed endless, what if we made a bad choice and were stuck with it for years, our poor judgement there for all to see!!
Then there was the matter of the art work. Did this painting look good alongside that one, how many paintings should we hang and had I really finished that one or should I add a bit more! The deadline was getting nearer and really as novices we hadn't prioritised as well as we should. Luckily we had some very cooperative outside agencies who really 'stepped it up' so we could actually open on time.
That of course was another source of worry, we had planned an opening evening event, and The Stradey Park Hotel (for whom Ivano has worked for many years) had kindly provided us with the catering for the evening with  canapes, wine and even waiting staff , but what if nobody came? It was a cold night would people really want to leave the comfort of their armchairs just to see our gallery.
However we need not  have worried, shortly after opening the gallery was full to capacity with lots of wonderful guests, some of whom  had travelled quite a distance to get there. We had a truly lovely evening, what a wonderful introduction to our new life as gallery owners.

What a pleasure to visit the Gallery and meet Denise and Ivano.
I was mildly tortured by having to choose which pictures to buy; wanting almost all.
I have the pleasure of three of Denise’s canvases adorning my home now and I’m almost sure I even detect a smile from the walls they hang on.
It’s a pleasure to find such talent and such exquisite representations of things I love so beautifully translated into Art.
Long may you paint as you do Denise and may your Gallery be a great success.

The pictures of the gallery look great.  Dennis and I are looking forward to visiting.  We wish you every success - your work delights me.  Missed you in Abergavenny. I had to make do with Ivano today (only joking!).  What a super talented couple you are.  See you soon.  Hilary x

I recently attended the opening of John Street Art Gallery, Llanelli. The paintings were not only beautiful but inspirational.  Art lovers will be both thrilled and excited by the paintings.
